The Bristol Center for Arts and Culture,
located in the New England Carousel Museum building, is honored to present a
new collection of artwork from Bristol artist Glo Sessions, to be housed in
the renovated gallery dedicated to her work. September 19 marks the opening of
the Glo Sessions Gallery, a permanent space containing work created especially
for this event.
A long-time resident of Bristol, Ms. Sessions captures the essence of people
and the character of neighborhoods. She enjoys a national reputation and has
her work hanging in private collections, corporate offices, universities, and
museums throughout the country and abroad. Ms. Sessions was one of the
original board members of the New England Carousel Museum and has been a
long-time supporter and friend to the museum.
Upon graduation from
Skidmore College, Ms. Sessions began her art career in advertising in New York
City, where she met and married James McCall Sessions. When her fifth child
turned three years old, she began to concentrate on refining her artwork. Upon
the death of her husband, she consolidated her studios into one location.
Today she paints, travels, tends to her beautiful gardens, and spends as much
time as possible with her best friend, Joe Gnazzo. |
