Richard Rich

Restoration Manager

Richard came to the museum early in 2022. He brings with him over 30 years of museum experience serving as director of exhibits at two Connecticut museums and working as an independent museum professional designing and fabricating hands-on interactive exhibits. He has also been involved with the restoration of vehicles, machines, homes, cast iron kitchen stoves, mid-century modern furniture, and lighting.

Richards has some early history with The Carousel Museum. If you visit the restoration shop, a story Richard likes to tell is how Louise DeMars gave him his first paying museum work decades ago when he decided to leave his earlier career with area high-tech corporations. The signage bases he fabricated decades ago are still in the museum’s galleries.
